Kim Fleming
Co-Founder, President & CEO

Kim is David’s mom. Born and raised in Somerset, MA (about an hour south of Boston), and loves her New England/Boston sports teams!  She moved to the Washington, DC area in the early 1990s. In high school, Kim was a majorette in the marching band, creating cherished memories and lasting friendships that remain strong today.
She has spent the past 35 years in the administrative field and currently works full-time as an Executive Assistant at one of the Big Four accounting firms, PwC.
Kim was a devoted mom to David who struggled for several years with mental illness. Following the passing of David, Kim founded this non-profit with her husband and David's step-dad, Jon, in hopes to help other teens who are struggling and help parents get resources they need to help their child.  She has successfully championed constituent-driven legislation and has been featured in various interviews, articles, and videos.  She attends community events to share David's story and resources, she is on the Leadership Council of the Suicide Prevention Alliance of Northern Virginia (SPAN), is a member of the Trauma Informed Community Network (TICN) and a member of the Prevention Coalition of Greater Prince William Network
She now resides in Manassas, VA, with her husband Jon and their fur baby, Hondo.

Treasurer

Kelcey is one of Kim’s oldest childhood friends—and proud to say so! During high school, I twirled a rifle in the marching band and sang in all the choirs. It’s funny how, at that age, you don’t realize how many times you’ll look back on those years and the people who fill so many of your memories—Kim is definitely one of them.
I’m currently a Property Administrator for Evergreen Medical Properties, and although I’ve bounced around with various jobs, I love the position I hold now. I’m also finishing my degree in business and look forward to the day my children can watch me graduate. On top of that, I recently opened a store with my sister, and it’s doing well.
I have three children. My oldest is a nurse in Texas. My middle child is transgender and has coped with suicidal ideations while navigating a transition, but he’s now doing really well as a doctor’s assistant in an emergency veterinary office. My youngest is also transgender and is still finding her way; I’m incredibly proud of the courage she shows every day. Because suicide has touched my life so personally, this cause and foundation mean a great deal to me. I’m honored to be part of something that can help others.
Looking ahead, my three-year plan is to move myself and my furbaby Ollie to Galveston, Texas, and continue loving life.
